				<title>I Want To Be Blind!</title>
				<link>http://www.KenReiss.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/5/12/I-Want-To-Be-Blind</link>
				<description>

				Last weekend, we attended a seminar by Bernie Siegel, MD, the well-known author of Prescriptions for Living and numerous other books. At the seminar, Bernie asked the question &quot;If you had to choose to be either deaf or blind, which would you choose?&quot; He said most people choose deaf, but that choosing blind might actually be a better choice.

Since then, our child has been saying &quot;I want to be blind!&quot; So we agreed and the day was spend &apos;blind&apos; by wearing several layers of sleeping eye masks.

It was a tremendous learning experience! Hours were spent stumbling around the house. One time, in a panic, we heard calling for our help to find our child! While the plan was to spend the day &apos;blind&apos;, after just a few hours it was decided that seeing is much better!

I was reminded how blessed we are to have a healthy family.
